Independent HVAC & Refrigeration Technical Assessment

When HVAC or refrigeration systems fail, the cause needs to be clear.

Independent technical investigation, fault diagnosis and reporting for commercial and industrial air-conditioning and refrigeration systems across Queensland and interstate as required.

01 // Introduction

What failed, why it failed, and what should happen next.

Forensic HVAC helps clients understand what failed, why it failed, whether repair is practical, and what should happen next. Assessments are based on site observations, testing, equipment condition, operating history, available documentation and photographic evidence. Findings are presented in clear technical reports designed for commercial, insurance and technical decision-makers.

CS-01

Storm-related ducted air-conditioning failure

A ducted split system stopped operating after a storm/power disturbance. Testing identified multiple failed control boards while the compressor windings tested within normal range. System age, parts availability and additional component wear made repair high risk, so full replacement was recommended.

Commercial freezer door icing investigation

A freezer was maintaining temperature correctly, but heavy icing developed around the door. Testing found the refrigeration system operating normally and identified an open-circuit door-frame heater with supply voltage present. The investigation separated the refrigeration performance from the door-heater failure and defined a targeted repair strategy.

Refrigeration plant replacement due to compressor failure

A small-goods room lost cooling due to a compressor electrical failure to earth. The original R22 system and compressor were obsolete, making repair impractical. Replacement of the condensing unit and conversion to a current serviceable refrigerant restored operation and future maintainability.
